Bent Street 3 is open for submissions.
Bent Street is an annual publication of Australian LGBTIQA+ art, writing and ideas. It gathers essays, fiction, poetry, artwork, reflections, letters, blog posts, interviews, performance writing and rants to bring you ‘The Year in Queer’.
‘Bent Street provides a scholarly and creative space for the LGBTIQ+ community and our allies. This includes many different individuals, with intersecting and conflicting interests. It is a space where we can communicate about these interests and how we feel about them, amongst ourselves.’ – Tiffany Jones, Editor of Bent Street.
“Bent Street provides a platform to get new LGBTIQ+ writing out there, and that can be a massive encouragement, especially for writers who haven’t yet been published. We think our voices are out there, we think we are heard, but without supporting dedicated places to collect our art and writing, our opinions, places like Bent Street, perhaps our voices aren’t heard.’ – Ash Sievwright, contributor to Bent Street.
For more details, click on the About page. We’re open for submissions for this year’s print edition till 15 October. Production is October/November with release in December.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
